One Matrix, Over God Neo. A classic example of man, made god. The Matrix. A classic example of mind defining reality. Morpheus. A classic example of man's superiority to his own savior. What *is* the Matrix? Is it real? What do you think? So many questions... so many answers. But how do you know which is truly right? How can a person.. being human.. being imperfect.. without all knowledge.. know whether what he believes he knows is actual fact? In all facets of life... people use words.. and emotions.. to attempt to communicate what they believe to be true.. or important. But is what we believe to be true, truly real? Is it truly factual? How can we know? And how can we know what another person is truly saying.. unless the conduit -- the words, themselves -- is truly reliable? I could speak tons of words that you'd find pleasant to your ears... but would they truly be helpful? I could scribble mathematical and computational formulas on blackboards surrounding a stadium.. but would they lead you to true fulfillment? I could enroll you in the most prestigious universities, and give you the most acclaimed tutors.. but would you truly find the knowledge that you most need? What *is* the Matrix? Is it real? Yes. The Matrix is very real.. but the movie didn't do it justice. The Matrix *does* have us all in bondage.. all enslaved.. to a controlling powerful source.. but the movie didn't explain that source rightly. Yes.. the Matrix is all around us.. but not as the movie described. So what *IS* the Matrix? Are you ready for it? Do you really want to be unplugged? What *IS* the Matrix? A little boy went out to play with his father... but his father didn't come out to play. A little girl went out to play with her dolls.. but they didn't follow her. An old patrol officer.. put away his pistol.. for the last time... but he still had many shots to fire. What *is* the Matrix? It is our world... enslaved by a power too big for any imperfect human to overcome. It tantalizes our ears and minds with pleasures big and small.. draining our own life's blood from our veins.. as we do its bidding for another feast. It grows inside us with each reaching grasp.. telling us that *we* are those who decide what is good and what is not... that pleasure is the measure of worth.. and that rights and freedom are the measure of goodness. It refuses to acknowledge that.. in true growth, one may experience deep pain. It fights with all its power to prevent any from cheating its denizens from the death of their next fix. After all.. in death, there *is* life.. is there not? What is the Matrix? It is life.. without life. It is death.. without death. It is lack of protection.. all in the name of freedom. It is lack of morality.. all in the name of enjoyment. It is lack of truth.. all in the name of peace. It is.. living.. for the right.. to die.. so long as that death's pain is immeasureable. What *IS* the Matrix? It is pleasure.. taken to extreme.. It is the marriage of soul and mind.. without the spirit. It is giving everything we have for a bowl of soup. It is.. a lie.
